DR900X PLUS series cables and accessories compatibility FAQ

With the BlackVue DR900X Plus Series now available. The DR900X Plus Series produces crisper videos than its predecessors, check out the details here. 
So some of you might be looking to upgrade from an older BlackVue model. Would this coaxial cable be reusable? What about the power cable? Parking Mode accessories? In this article, we go over the frequently asked questions related cables and accessories compatibility. 

​CABLE COMPATIBILITY

Power cables
Compatible with previous X Series models but not with the power cables from models prior (DR650S, DR750S, DR900S, etc.).
Since the X Series (DR590X, DR750X, DR900X), the power connectors have changed to “3-wire type”, to support direct hardwiring. The DR900X Plus power cables are the same as the X Series but therefore incompatible with DR900S cables, for example.

Video cables
Compatible with any past BlackVue coaxial cable. 
The video cables are identical to the DR900X and DR750X Series (coaxial type), as well as the DR900S, DR750S and DR650S series. For DR650GW, we need to verify the serial number for confirmation, please contact us. 
DR590 and DR590X use different video cables.

PARKING MODE ACCESSORIES COMPATIBILITY

Same as past models. 
That’s because DR900X Plus models have both G-sensor-based (when connected via cigarette lighter power adapter) and ignition-based Parking Mode (when hardwired). DR900X Plus models support the Cellink batteries and Power Magic Pro (PMP) hardwiring kit. 
Yes, you can still use Power Magic Pro: although somewhat redundant since the DR900X Plus support direct hardwiring with their built-in voltage monitoring, the PMP gives you a Parking Mode switch that some users find handy. Typically, they would turn the Parking Mode switch off when parked in their home garage and turn it on when leaving their home.

REAR AND INTERIOR CAMERA COMPATIBILITY

Not compatible with past rear cameras. 
The DR900X Plus Series rear and interior cameras use the same sensor as the DR750X Plus Series rear cameras, including the Interior Infrared (IR) and External Waterproof TRUCK rear camera. Therefore, past DR900 or DR750X/S rear cameras will not be compatible with the DR900X Plus front (main) camera.

COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER ACCESSORIES

The shape of the DR900X Plus Series is almost identical to its predecessors DR900X and DR900S, so if you have a BlackVue CPL Filter, Tamper-proof case (BTC-1C) or a custom mount, you should be able to use it on the DR900X Plus.
