On 9 April 2018, Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) had set a new regulation for the use of inward-facing cameras in taxis and private-hires cars, a victory against fare cheats and abusive passengers.
The PDPC highlighted that images, audio recordings and video recordings may contain personal data that could identify an individual. Drivers are not allowed to upload such videos on social media, but the videos can be used to assist in official investigations.
