Deepavali (also known as “Diwali” or the “Festival of Lights”) is a celebration by the Hindus that marks the triumph of good over evil, it is considered one of the major cultural festivals in Singapore. 

​One of the highlights of this celebration is the month-long annual street light-up in Little India which features ‘Gopuram’ as the main decorative piece to welcome the joyous celebration of Lights, and many other colourful artworks.
