[Tutorial] How to Remove and Insert a microSD card in Your DR970X BOX PLUS Dashcam

The BlackVue DR970X Box Plus is equipped with a high-performance dashcam system, and like any dashcam, it relies on a properly functioning microSD card to record critical footage. 

In this post, we’ll walk you through the steps to remove and insert the microSD card, while also providing tips to maintain the card’s performance. 
​Note: This tutorial is also applicable to other Box series dashcams, such as the DR770X Box.

Why Correct microSD Card Use Matters?
​For optimal performance and stability, it’s important to use a BlackVue-compatible microSD card. Using third-party cards, even from well-known brands, can cause the dashcam to restart unexpectedly or fail to record important footage.
To avoid these issues, we recommend using the microSD cards from our approved list. Remember, microSD cards are consumable items, and they will eventually wear out, especially in high-use environments like dashcams. Regular formatting and timely replacement will help ensure the dashcam functions smoothly.

How to Remove and Insert the microSD Card?
1. Turn Off the Dashcam
To avoid data corruption, always power off the dashcam before handling the microSD card. 
2. Access the Recording Unit
The microSD card is stored inside the recording unit, which is protected by a key-lockable cover.
3. Unlock the Cover
Use the key to turn the lock anti-clockwise and remove the cover. This will reveal the microSD card slot.
(Note: Remove the power jack from the recording unit if the power supply is still connected.)
4. Remove the microSD Card
Press the microSD card inward until it clicks and pops out, then pull it out carefully.
5. Insert the microSD Card
When inserting the card back into the slot, ensure the gold contacts are facing downwards. Press it in until it locks into place.
6. Lock the Cover
Replace the cover and turn the key clockwise to securely lock it in place.
