[Tutorial] How to Insert a SIM card in Your BlackVue DR970X-2CH LTE PLUS Dashcam

In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process of inserting a SIM card into your BlackVue DR970X-2CH LTE Plus dashcam.

This SIM card enables LTE (4G) connectivity, allowing you to access your dashcam remotely through BlackVue Cloud, receive notifications, and monitor your vehicle in real-time. Whether you're setting up your dashcam for the first time or swapping SIM cards, this guide will ensure you're doing it right. This tutorial is also applicable to other LTE Dashcams, such as DR770X-2CH LTE.

​Step-by-Step Guide to Inserting the SIM Card

1. Power Off the Dashcam
​To prevent potential damage, ensure the dashcam is powered off before proceeding with SIM card insertion.
2. Remove the Mount Holder

• Press the lock button on the dashcam to release the mount holder.
• Gently slide the mount holder off the dashcam to expose the SIM card tray.

3. Access the SIM Card Tray

• Turn the dashcam upside down to access the SIM card tray.
• Use the ejector needle provided to push into the small hole on the tray and eject it.

4. Insert the SIM Card

• The SIM card and tray come with a notch for proper orientation. Align the SIM card with the notch, ensuring the logo side faces upwards.
• Place the SIM card securely in the tray.

5. Reinsert the SIM Card Tray

• Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot, ensuring it locks into place.

6. Reattach the Mount Holder

• Press the lock button and slide the mount holder back onto the dashcam securely.

7. Power On the Dashcam
Once the SIM card is in place and the mount holder reattached, power the dashcam back on to enable LTE connectivity.
8. Set Up the SIM Card Using the BlackVue App

• Open the BlackVue App on your smartphone.
• Connect to your dashcam via Wi-Fi.
• Navigate to the Settings menu and select Cloud Connection > SIM card
• Follow the on-screen instructions to activate and configure the SIM card for data use. Make sure you enter the correct Access Point Name (APN) for the SIM card inserted. You can find the APN list here or you can refer to your service provider.

To avoid damage to your dashcam, always ensure the device is powered off before inserting or removing the SIM card.
