BlackVue ELITE 8 now available in Singapore: Extended Parking Mode & Unmatched Low-Light Clarity

On 3 September 2025, the highly anticipated ELITE 8 Series is officially launched, redefining what drivers can expect from dashcam performance, reliability, and long-term vehicle protection.
Available in dual-channel (front and rear camera), ELITE 8-2CH model, the series combines cutting-edge hardware with intelligent software, ensuring peace of mind whether you’re on the road or parked for weeks at a time.

Next-Level Video Quality
Powered by a new generation processor and Sony STARVIS 2 image sensors, the ELITE 8 captures crystal-clear 2K QHD (2560×1440) video at 30FPS. Both models support Dual HDR, applying advanced High Dynamic Range to front and rear cameras simultaneously.
Together with smart noise reduction and Ultra Low-Light Boost (down to 0.03 Lux), the ELITE 8 delivers vibrant, sharp, and detailed footage in high-contrast or near-dark environments—capturing what the human eye can barely see.

​24/7 Protection Like Never Before
One of the biggest highlights of the ELITE 8 Series is its Smart Parking Mode with Power Saving technology. Using less than 1mA of power, the camera can remain on standby for weeks. Paired with the Cellink NEO battery, drivers can achieve over 6 months of continuous protection.
Unlike typical low-power systems, the ELITE 8 wakes up in under one second, instantly recording when motion or impact is detected. Buffered recording captures 10 seconds before and 50 seconds after each event, so you never miss a moment.

Thoughtful Design & Durability
The ELITE 8 stays true to BlackVue’s sleek cylindrical design, with a 360-degree rotatable mount, touch sensor for manual recording, and Seamless Pairing for easy setup. A built-in supercapacitor and overheat protection ensure safe operation in Singapore’s tropical climate.
It also includes a speaker and microphone for system voice messages (17 languages), real-time alerts, and audio recording (optional).

​Things to Take Note with ELITE 8
1. New Coaxial Cable
The ELITE 8 is the first BlackVue series to introduce a new coaxial cable designed specifically to support the higher bitrate of QHD rear video recording.

• The cable looks almost identical to previous versions but now supports 6Gbps data transfer.
• You can identify it by the “6” marking on the angled connector at the front camera side.
• While older coaxial cables might work, they were designed for Full HD rear video. Using them with QHD can sometimes cause interference or unstable video signals.

👉 Recommendation: Always use the supplied 6Gbps coaxial cable with the ELITE 8 for best reliability. This is especially important for drivers who are used to reusing old cables when upgrading.

2. Parking Mode is Ignition-Triggered Only
Unlike previous BlackVue models, the ELITE 8 does not rely on the G-sensor to switch between Driving Mode and Parking Mode.

• Instead, Parking Mode activates only when the ignition is turned off.
• This prevents false triggers in heavy traffic (e.g., when your car stops at a jam or red light, the dashcam won’t mistakenly switch to Parking Mode).
• To support this, the ELITE 8 must be connected in a way that passes ignition status:
  • Hardwiring Kit (fuse box connection)
  • OBD-II Power Cable
  • Cellink NEO Batteries (NEO 5S / NEO 8+S) with 3-wire cable

⚠️ Note: 12V cigarette-lighter power adapters do not carry ignition signals, so they cannot enable Parking Mode with ELITE 8.

3. What Happens When Ignition is Switched Off?
The ELITE 8 adds a 3-minute delay before Parking Mode activates.

• During this period, the dashcam continues to record three 1-minute “Parking” videos.
• No impact events are detected or sent to the Cloud during these 3 minutes.
• This design avoids false events caused by normal activities when leaving the car (e.g., opening/closing doors, unloading items).

👉 After the delay, the dashcam fully enters Parking Mode, ready to capture impacts, motion, or timelapse recordings.

4. No Security LED on Front Camera
​To stay stealthier than ever, the ELITE 8 front camera no longer features a security LED. This ensures discreet operation, especially when parked, while still delivering full protection and recording.

5. New Power Button
A small but important improvement: the ELITE 8 now includes a dedicated power button.

• Previously, powering off required unplugging the dashcam’s cable.
• With the new button, users can conveniently turn the dashcam on or off without disturbing wiring.

This feature is particularly useful for workshop visits, vehicle inspections, or when resetting the system.

6. USB-C Power Cable & Car Adapter Included
The ELITE 8 comes with a USB-C power cable and USB-C car adapter right out of the box, in addition to the hardwiring cable.
