For Parking Mode, simply use the included Hardwiring Power Cable or optional OBD-II Power Cable. The dashcam will then switch to Parking Mode automatically when the ignition is turned off.

With the Battery Protection System, your BlackVue monitors your vehicle’s voltage and shuts down safely before the battery drains. Cutoff voltage and timers can be adjusted easily in the BlackVue App.

For drivers who prefer not to use their car’s battery, the ELITE 8 is compatible with Cellink NEO Batteries, delivering extended coverage and the ultimate Parking Mode experience.

With Power Saving Mode, your BlackVue dashcam drastically reduces power consumption by going into standby. It instantly wakes up when an impact is detected, records for one minute, and then returns to standby to save energy.

• When hardwired to a vehicle with a healthy battery: enjoy several weeks of parking protection.
• When paired with a dedicated Cellink NEO Battery: extend protection to several months — even over 6 months on a full charge.​

Exclusive to the ELITE 8 Series, Power Saving Mode offers:
​✅ Ultra-low power use: Under 1mA, giving weeks (up to 2 months) of standby when hardwired, or over 6 months with a Cellink NEO 8+S battery.

​✅ Ultra-fast wake-up: Under 1 second for instant recording after an impact (1-minute clip, pre-event buffered recording not supported).

​✅ Heat efficiency: Generates almost no heat in standby, ensuring reliable operation even in hot weather.

Ideal for leaving your vehicle parked for long periods, this mode maximizes protection with minimal battery drain.
Cloud features are paused in standby, but Live Event Upload ensures event clips are automatically sent to the Cloud after recording.

• Motion Detection: records a 1-minute buffered video whenever a motion is detected by the front or rear camera. Motion detection areas can be set manually in the app.
• Time Lapse: records constantly at 1 frame per second so each 1 minute video covers 30 minutes of real time. Recommended if you routinely park in busy areas.
  

✅ Pre-impact recording: in both modes, the dash cam also records buffered Event clips in case of impact.
That means 1-minute clips that start 10 seconds before the detected impact.

Supercapacitor: provides short-term power for error-free recording in case of power loss. Highly resistant and stable in extremely hot and cold temperatures. 
Overheat protection: ELITE 8 operates at temperatures ranging from -20°C to +65°C. If the ambient temperature reaches 70°C, it shuts down to protect itself. When down to 65°C, it turns back on.
