The Mediacorp Subaru Car Challenge is an annual endurance challenge in search of the longest standing contestant who can keep his/her palm on the car the entire time. Contestants only have four 5 minutes break sessions at an interval of 6 hours in a day. Adding to the pressure, this is an outdoor event. As such, participates have to endure all weather elements. It is now known as Asia's largest endurance challenge. Started out with only 120 Singaporean contestants in 2002, the Mediacorp Subaru Car Challenge has now grew massively in strength and presence, attracting over 400 contestants all over South East Asia which include Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Congratulations to Mr. Abdul Hamid bin Jonid from Singapore who won a Subaru XV worth $65,000 by standing with his palm on the car for 74 hours 15 mins! 1st runner up, Mr. Luang Tu Lang from Vietnam walked away with $5,000 cash.
